A remarkable career has seen Marco Pierre White, train at Le Gravoche open an amazing restaurant called Harveys. Incidentally Gordon Ramsay worked there for three years. Marco then reached the height of three Michelin stars at the former Hyde Park hotel aged of 33, then at his peak, only to retire in 1999 and not cook since!

However he has been in New York in the US and appeared on the Martha Stewart show recently presenting a cookery demonstration of how to prepare halibut with citrus and cilantro . Click here for Marco Pierre White Recipe Video links page.

Marco still owns or has an interest in many restaurants, one of which is a partnership with Sir Rocco Forte, called Lucianos, off St James St just around the corner from the Ritz. The pair have always been close particularly when Pierre was at the Hyde Park Hotel.

A new venture at Chelsea FC has resulted in 'Marco' a brasserie style resurant with a contemporary edge, due to open around September 07. Additional restaurants include:

Well we look forward to the new series and it is worth reading up on the history of Marco, Le Gravoche and how our current batch of chefs all began their careers.
