US Magazine ~ Wine Spectator ~ How to Cook Special ~ September 30th 2007
I just love this magazine, but then I like all books and magazines. Take me to a Borders, Books a Million, Barnes and Noble, or Waldenbooks and I am as happy as can be! The first Books a Million I visited I was just amazed (in Fort Myers), now I visit the Orlando store ~ however back to the Wine Spectator.
This edition shows us how to cook, step by step instructions for the essential techniques, that will boost your cooking to restaurant levels, the best restaurants of course!
The guide begins with ~
Preparation
Soups, Stocks and Sauces
Poaching, Steaming and Boiling
Sauteing and Frying
Roasting
Braises and Stews
The Grill
The Cellar
Wine matches from the best US chefs, Mario Batali, Michelle Bernstein, Daniel Boulud, Emeril Lagasse, Eric Ripert, Charli Trotter and Alice Watters. See Fall Cooking.
All together a great idea and a resource I will certainly be using in the kitchen.
The wines reviewed are Pinot Noirs from California and White Burgundy. (Nothing quite like a Merry Edwards, classy).
Enjoy the magazine with a nice glass of wine!
Bookstore in theUK and United States store.
