This is a very popular book - the autobiography of an enigmatic and a very talented chef. Everyone has heard of Gordon Ramsay and the interest in his life is nothing short of phenomonal. Humble Pie is a very honest and revealing look at the hard side of Gordon’s upbringing and his astonishing career. In his life nothing has been easy. In actual fact, Gordon has moved from adversity to success - believing as he says himself that he feels he has to please and in trying to please people, he generates success. Seven Michelin starred restaurants, seven! Some success!
He was brought up by an alcoholic father, who in an effort to escape from disputes with employers, would move the family all over the country. Later he was signed by Rangers FC but never played for the first team, to be injured and turn to his occupation at the time - a chef.
He has worked with the Chef greats, Marco Pierre White and Albert Roux.
All in all a very interesting read, I have noticed many people (mainly men) reading the book at airport and on trains.
