Better Cooking ~ Kitchen Equipment and Cookbooks
We are very interested in cooking as a nation. The popularity of programs and cookbooks is evidence of a growing number of folk interested in developing their cookery knowledge and skills.We all need and seek ideas, skills and equipment. So how can we quickly and simply develop our knowledge in all these areas?
The first factor is the influence and immedaiate effect of tv. I have been writing this blog for a few months and it was because of my own interest in cooking, restaurants and wines. Since starting the blog, I have learned alot and have a focus on tv programs and cookbooks as the best way of quickly learning new recipes and skills. Each chef adds a new approach or thought and watching tv does provide quick visual examples of what we can do. Daily Cooks! is a great example of how we can develop recipes simply and quickly, we see a range of chefs who display a wide selection of approaches and ideas.
A second factor is the medium of the internet. Websites and now blogs are a very effective means of communication and being able to help others with interests similar to your own is very positive.
The internet has also provided us with the development of online shopping, where we are spending more and more time researching on the net and purchasing books and larger items. It is the speed with which we can find the items we need and then have delivered to our door within days.
For cookbooks we can review the book before purchase, even send the book as a gift. I spend alot of time researching all types of books and eventually purchase through Tesco or Amazon. There are many good reductions available and it is very pleasant returning home after work to see a box on the doorstep.
Many chefs and writers are very popular today ~ including Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsay, Antony Worrall Thompson, Nigel Slater, Rachel Allen, etc.
