Marco Pierre White ~ The Devil in the Kitchen ~ Book Review

A stunning autobiography, that traces Marco's life from his upbringing in Leeds to the three Michelin stars at Harveys and beyond. This is a great book, I just couldn't put it down.

If you want to know about Marco's single minded approach to cooking, how he worked with Albert Roux, Pierre Koffmann and Raymond Blanc, his connections to the cream of the UK and international chefs, then you need to read this book. How fortune guided his path. We are able to understand the influences on chefs in the UK and how French cuisine and French chefs down the years have been so influential plus the food scene in and around London, the shakers and movers.

An introduction covers the recent hell's kitchen success and the same confident, honest and at times concerned Marco is revealed. His writing is easily the best I have read recently, from anyone!

Little panels in the book add comments, cooking advice and Marco philosophy all through the book.

Marco's life and loves, hopes and fears all pushing to achieve more and more, but no satisfaction from all the labour.

I could say more, but don't want to spoil the book for you, though I recommend it highly. Do borrow or buy.
