The Jumeirah hotel group in Dubai hosted a Festival of Taste event that will took place from May 21st to May 26th in association with sponsors American Express and Emirates Airlines. Jumeirah Press Release.
It is intended that the event will become a biannual food and lifestyle event for Dubai and this year featured a number of international celebrity chefs who participated in Gourmet Nights and Cooking Classes with a Star based at the Jumeirah hotel restaurants.
Chefs who took part in this event, included Gary Rhodes, Michel Roux, Jean Christophe Novelli, James Martin, Sam Leong (Singapore) and Ben Sisley (Melbourne).
Willi Elsener, group director of restaurants and bars for Jumeirah, said: "Dubai has earned its reputation for being a world centre of culinary arts and lifestyle. We hope to further enhance this positioning by launching a biannual festival that will tantalise the taste buds of both residents and visitors alike."
UKTV Food is continuing its recent trend by following current international cooking and food events. Gary Rhodes in India is one example. Successfully bringing these new experiences to UK TV. This new series is called Festival of Taste and each episode follows the path different chef, as they try to create the best taste sensation, in unfamiliar kitchens with different chefs and sous-chefs and cooking for well travelled clientele. It is a matter of honour between each chef to provide the best tasting and inventive cuisine.
