Nigella Christmas: Food, Family, Friends, Festivities
Tonight, superfast food, Sesame noodle salad and pea and pesto soup. Then buttermilk chicken drumsticks for the kids!! Rocky road crunch bars and home made honeycomb. Anyone ready for a picnic?
First the noodle pack lunch. Nigella starts with sesame oil, garlic infused oil, soy sauce add lime juice and chilli sauce, whisk. Add peanut butter to make a sauce. The noodles are ready cooked egg noodles, bean sprouts, mange touts, slice up onions. Cut peppers into thin strips. Pour the sauce over the noodles and salad. Make sure to coat every noodle, add sesame seeds. Recipe.
Nigella makes it all so easy and whets our appetite, but does she really eat that much?
Back to the recipe book, Nigella writes down all her recipes and can refer to her notes.
Now rocky road crunch bars. Recipe. Looks disgusting, but I am sure it tastes OK.
Picnic food, using drumsticks, what about a buttermilk marinade? Recipe. Colslaw to go.
Once the food is ready Nigella is off to round up the kids and the picnic can begin.
Finally we make a pea soup to keep us ticking over. Peas, lime juice, spring onions (just during cooking). Cook the peas, remove onions add pesto and blend . Ingenious? I rather think so!
There she goes, eating again!
Finally honeycomb. Golden syrup and sugar, heat and add bicarbonate of soda and there you go.
