Rhodes across China - New Series on UKTV Food
A new series following on from Rhodes across India (previous blogs) has Gary jumping in at the deep end into wonderful Chinese cuisine, Rhodes Across China. The series has been shot on location in China and will be broadcast on UKTV Food starting Monday July 28th at 9.00 pm for two weeks.
The series was ordered by the UKTV Food channel head, Richard Kingsbury, and UKTV's acting head of commissioning Jane Rogerson. There will be 10 45 minute programs broadcast at prime time. As the series will see Gary Rhodes into the frying pan of real Chinese cuisine where he discovers regional Chinese cuisine at its best.
Gary will be accompanied by two UKTV Food viewers, who have been selected due to their passion for food and link to China.
It is expected that Gary will be able to reveal the wonders of local Chinese cuisine. We all know the wonderful Chinese people and their rapidly developing influence on the world. We will see Chinese life and culture and the plethora of surprises for the Western palate, from live fish to mounds of steaming choi-sum, and Rhodes Across China will lift the lid on authentic Chinese cooking.
The previous series Rhodes Across India was the best performing commissioned series on UKTV Food, that had an audience of over 1.3million adults over two weeks. PS. WHERE IS THE BOOK???

So who is Yotam Ottolenghi ?
Yotam Ottolengh has studied philosophy and literature. He completed Masters degree and also worked on the news desk of an Israeli daily newspaper. He came to London and started a cookery and baking career as an assistant pastry chef at the Capital. He then worked at Kensington Place and Launceston Place. Yotam has also worked for Maison Blanc and also Baker and Spice. He then began a number of restaurants and food shops, with branches in Notting Hill, Islington and Kensington.
